Hailing from the Luyha Tribe, The West Bridge Band is a four-man band led by Wamalwa Lusweti, who builds and plays the Litungu, a nine-stringed instrument that he invented.

"For my cover version I chose this track by Yeasayer. The original is a beautifully sad yet upbeat breakup song, strident and bright with synth lines cascading around a heartfelt vocal. I wanted to make it sound far more broken and fragile, so I re-played it on the piano, pitched it down, then mangled it quite heavily so it came out sort of wobbly and knackered sounding. I wanted to leave it quite bare, just letting that amazing melody lead the way."

Ahmed Gallab, better know to music fans as Sinkane, picked up an import copy of The Charlatans' Modern Nature in Brooklyn and, on falling in love with Emilie, his label, DFA contacted Tim Burgess and said that Sinkane would record a cover of the song. As luck would have it, Sinkane's 2014 LP Mean Love was a permament fixture on Tim's record player and the cover was recorded the next day
