Despite its dark lyrical themes, "Aeroplane" is one of the more accessible and upbeat songs on One Hot Minute (1995), with a funk slap bass line and child choral vocals from Flea's daughter Clara and her classmates. The song refers to American band Mazzy Star with the lyrics "The star of Mazzy must/push her voice inside of me". #rhcp-track-of-the-day

#rhcp-track-of-the-day: "Stretch" (originally titled Stretch You Out) was intended for the album "One Hot Minute" (1995) following the fade out of "One Big Mob". The two were planned to be one song titled "One Big Mob/Stretch You Out" however "Stretch" was not included for reasons unknown possibly due to the song's length of six minutes. Instead, it was released as a B-side of the "My Friends" single, and a bonus track of the album on iTunes.

This is the best live version I could find of that great song, and it was in Paris! :-) It was recorded during Blood Sugar Sex Magik sessions, but was released 2 years later for the Coneheads soundtrack. It was played live for the first time in 1998, when Frusciante came back to the RHCP. #rhcp-track-of-the-day

In this song, Kiedis refers to his turbulent relationship with his former girlfriend, which ended before recording Blood Sugar Sex Magik. At that point, he realized that being a ladies' man is great, but you are alone at the end of the day. The percussion was recorded using various junkyard debris found by Chad Smith, Flea and John Frusciante. Also; probably the kitschest #rhcp-track-of-the-day music video.
